about us
The British Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone (BCCSL) was officially formed on 17th February 2012 and launched on 2nd March 2012. BCCSL is set up as a private non-profit making organisation and registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act 2009 of the laws of Sierra Leone.
We aim to offer our members high quality events, productive networking, promotional opportunities, valuable information and practical services and access to influential individuals and institutions. The Chamber is supported by the British High Commission in Freetown and the founding Members.
Our Mission is to champion the business interests of our members in Sierra Leone, as defined by our Chamber Constitution – while fostering stronger commercial relationships between Britain and Sierra Leone. We aim to attract and support new and existing foreign businesses in the Sierra Leonean market, encourage Sierra Leonean investment in the UK, and drive private sector growth through capacity-building initiatives. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to a thriving private sector that reduces aid dependency and promotes sustainable economic development for Sierra Leone.
Objectives
- Ensure the Chamber actively fosters trade between the UK and Sierra Leone, strengthening connections between both business communities and key government ministries.
- Wielding the Chamber’s network and social undertakings to improve understanding of the business environment and government policies, encouraging regular communication and engagement with key stakeholders.
- Provide valuable services such as training, business information, market research, and analysis as and when required to help our members thrive in the dynamic Sierra Leonean market.
